Invisible Amigo / The Conversations
Beyond the book.
Into the conversation.
Writers have stories to tell beyond the ones they put on the page. We want to hear them. About the work, the ideas, the unexpected detours, and everything in between.
The idea
More than a Q&A.
The Conversations is a home for candid, curious exchanges with novelists, poets, journalists, historians, and other interesting voices. Some will take place across a table. Others over a video call. The setting can change; the curiosity stays the same.
A new interview series
Good questions. Unexpected answers.
We believe the best conversations wander a little. We might start with a novel and end up talking about a childhood memory, a place that shaped a writer, a difficult decision, or an idea that refuses to go away.
No rehearsed talking points required. Just thoughtful people, genuine curiosity, and room to explore.
Three ways to connect
Watch. Listen. Read.
Across the table.
Face-to-face conversations at bookstores, literary events, quiet spaces, and other places where a good exchange can unfold naturally. When possible, we'll share photography or video from the meeting.
Face to face, anywhere.
Recorded video interviews with writers near and far. Watch the full exchange, including the pauses, laughs, and unexpected turns that make a conversation human.
Just the voices.
Conversations made for listening—whether you're commuting, walking, or settling in with a cup of coffee. Select interviews may also include edited transcripts.
The interview archive
Conversations are coming.
The first chapter
We're getting ready to pull up a chair.
The Conversations is a new series at Invisible Amigo. Our first author interviews will appear here as they're recorded and published. In the meantime, explore the books that started so many of our questions.
What we believe
There is enough negativity in the world.
We come here for books that move us, stories that surprise us, and people who make us curious. That doesn't mean every book is perfect or every question is easy. It means there's something worth discussing—and we'd rather begin with that.
Authors / Publishers / Publicists
Have a story worth talking about?
Are you an author, agent, publicist, or someone with an interesting literary or cultural perspective? We'd love to hear from you. We're open to in-person, video, and audio conversations, and we especially appreciate thoughtful, unexpected ideas.
Interview requests are considered individually. Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee a feature.
